Are you in pain or do you know someone who has just lost a boyfriend? Well this is probably the hardest situation to be faced with. In such a case you probably need to hear encouragement words from someone who cares.

There are certain things feeling that you go through when trying to heal or when dealing with the death of a loved one. Let me share some of those feelings – hopefully you will realise that you are not alone and you are on your way to healing.

Disbelief

The initial feeling that comes when you hear the sad news is that of disbelief. This is especially true when you have just been talking to your boyfriend a few moments ago. This feeling may take a while to subside. In most occasions it lasts up to the day of the funeral.

Shock

In most cases shock is triggered by seeing the person actually dead. It could be at the morgue or at the memorial service. This is when you start to take in as reality gives you no choice but face what has happened. In most instances this feeling does not last long.

Anger

Anger comes in different forms i.e. you can be angry at yourself, the world or the person who was there when your boyfriend died. One thing I must warn you about is that it can get destructive. Guide your words, thoughts and actions at this time. Look into the internet for some daily words of encouragement to help you cope.

Pain

Now this is the feeling that lasts. It calls for some consistent exposure to words of encouragement. Pain is really a nasty feeling. It feels like a thorn that mercilessly prickles the heart beyond what human nature can bare. No matter how it feels, it goes away eventually. I don’t mean to say you forget what happened but you simply are able to live without feeling bad all the time.

When you are in pain you may feel helpless and even regret some doing or not doing something. You may feel nothing will ever take away the pain or regret not telling your boyfriend certain things.
